.॰ ભૂમિકા : ** વસન્તકુમાર મ. ભટ્ટ× ૦.૧ પાણિનિએ પોતાના અષ્ટાધ્યાયી' વ્યાકરણમાં જે ક્રમે સૂત્રોની રચના કરી છે, તે જ ક્રમને વળગી રહીને ‘કાશિકાવૃત્તિ'(ઈ.સ. ૬૦૦-૭૦૦)માં પાણિનિનાં સૂત્રોની સમજૂતી રજૂ કરવામાં આવી છે. પાણિનિનાં સૂત્રોની મદદથી જ્યારે કાઈ વાકય કે વાકયના એક એકમરૂપ નામપદ કે ક્રિયાપદની રૂપસિદ્ધિ વણુવત્રી હોય ત્યારે પાણિનિનાં સૂત્રોના ઉપસ્થિતિ ક્રમ બદલાય છે.

भट्ट पंडितराज जगन्नाथ की 'प्रौढमनोरमाकुचमर्दिनी' — भट्टोजि दीक्षित पर किया गया प्रहार — का अध्ययन रूपावतार और प्रक्रियाकौमुदी से सिद्धान्तकौमुदी तक चलनेवाली प्रक्रिया-परम्परा के भीतर रखकर करते हैं। वे लगभग पच्चीस आपत्तियाँ गिनाते हैं, जिनमें यथासंख्य-न्याय तथा जाति-व्यक्ति का प्रश्न प्रमुख हैं। Bhatt studies Panditaraja Jagannatha's Praudhamanorama-kucamardini, his attack on Bhattoji Dikshita, within the prakriya tradition running from the Rupavatara and Prakriyakaumudi to the Siddhantakaumudi. He counts about twenty-five objections, among them the yathasankhya rule and the jati-vyakti question, and notes that Jagannatha wrote a parallel refutation of Bhattoji's Shabdakaustubha.
