बुन्देलखण्डके अहार क्षेत्रका परिचय देते हुए संग्राहक बताते हैं कि चन्देल नरेश मदनवर्माके समय इसका नाम मदनेशसागरपुर था। यहाँ वि० सं० ११०३ से १८६७ तककी प्रतिमाएँ हैं जिनके लेखोंमें खण्डेलवाल, जैसवाल, लमेचू, गोलापूर्व आदि जातियोंका उल्लेख है। मूर्ति-लेखोंका पाठ और भावार्थ क्रमशः दिया गया है।
