डेल कारनेगीके जीवनकी एक घटनाके माध्यमसे बताया गया है कि अपनी भूल तुरन्त और स्वयं स्वीकार कर लेनेसे सामने वालेका क्रोध शान्त हो जाता है। बिना मुसकेके कुत्तेको घुमाते पकड़े जाने पर कारनेगीने स्वयं अपराध मान लिया, तो पुलिसमैन उदार होकर उसे छोड़ गया। लेख आत्म-आलोचनाको व्यवहार-कुशलताका सरल उपाय बताता है।
