Sharma sifts history out of Harsa's two Udayana plays, Ratnavali and Priyadarsika, reading Bana, Jayadeva and the plays themselves. He identifies the lord of Kosala and Kalinga with Pulakesin II and argues Drdhavarma was a collateral of Avantivarma, uncle of Grahavarma.
