राजस्थान के मन्दिरों के नगर झालरापाटन, पूर्वनाम चन्द्रावती, के प्राचीन इतिहास का वर्णन है। आहत सिक्के, सातवीं शती के राजा दुर्गगण, ग्यारहवीं-बारहवीं शती के दहिया राजाओं के लेख, सातवीं शती का शीतलेश्वर महादेव मंदिर तथा सागवाड़ा में प्रतिष्ठित होकर यहाँ विराजमान जैन प्रतिमाओं के लेखों से इसकी जैन और भारतीय संस्कृति की समृद्धि दिखाई गई है।
