लेख में चम्पू काव्य का परिचय देते हुए महाकवि हरिचन्द्र के जीवन्धर चम्पू में आकिंचन्य अर्थात् अपरिग्रह भाव का अध्ययन किया गया है। शृंगारप्रधान काव्य होते हुए भी राजा सत्यन्धर जैसे पात्रों में ममत्व-त्याग के प्रसंग दिखाए गए हैं और बताया गया है कि जीवन्धर स्वामी ने अन्ततः आकिंचन्य धर्म से निर्वाण पाया।
