मुनि पुण्यविजयजी खारवेल के हाथीगुम्फा शिलालेख की चौदहवीं पंक्ति के अंश ‘कायनिसीदीयाय यापावकेहि’ पर विचार करते हैं। जायसवाल की छाया ‘यापज्ञापकेभ्यः’ के स्थान पर वे ‘कायनैषेधिक्या यापनीयकेभ्यः’ पढ़ने का सुझाव देते हैं। इसके समर्थन में आवश्यकसूत्र के वन्दनक पाठ, जिनदासगणि की चूर्णि, हरिभद्र की टीका और ‘निसीहिया’ के विविध अर्थ उद्धृत किए गए हैं।
