लेख मोक्षमार्ग में ज्ञान की भूमिका स्पष्ट करता है। पाँच ज्ञानों में श्रुतज्ञान ही मोक्षमार्ग में प्रयोजनभूत है, जो मिथ्यात्व हटने पर सम्यग्ज्ञान बनता है। चौथे से छठे गुणस्थान तक वह शुभ राग सहित व्यवहार सम्यग्ज्ञान है, सातवें से बारहवें तक आत्मस्थिरता रूप होकर केवलज्ञान उत्पन्न करता है, जो निश्चय सम्यग्ज्ञान कहलाता है।
