ढांकी अप्रकाशित प्राकृत 'कहावली' के कर्ता भद्रेश्वर सूरि के समय पर विचार करते हैं। ग्रन्थ में वज्र, कालकाचार्य, पादलिप्तसूरि, सिद्धसेन, मल्लवादी, जिनभद्र तथा हरिभद्र के ऐतिहासिक चरित्र होने से वह बहुमूल्य है। बारहवीं शताब्दी के बाद की तिथि अस्वीकार कर वे पुष्पिकाओं, प्रशस्तियों और अभिलेखों की छानबीन करते हैं। Dhaky weighs the date of Bhadreśvara Sūri, author of the unpublished Prakrit Kahāvalī, whose historical lives of Vajra, Kālakācārya, Pādalipta, Siddhasena, Mallavādin, Jinabhadra and Haribhadra make it valuable. Rejecting dates later than the twelfth century, he sifts colophons, praśastis and inscriptions naming the several Bhadreśvaras.
