K. K. Shastree's two-volume Bharata-Samhita reconstructs the 24,000-sloka Bharata, and behind it the 8,800-verse Jaya, from internal evidence in the vulgate and the Poona critical edition, running from Adiparvan 3 to Asvamedhika 91 and treating the seven-hundred-verse Bhagavadgita as a later insertion.
