रामभाई सावलिया और मुनीन्द्र जोषी अहमदाबाद की उमा-महेश्वर युगल प्रतिमाओं का वर्णन करते हैं — सारंगपुर के सरकीवाड तथा विक्टोरिया गार्डन निकट पंचनाथ महादेव से प्राप्त। पाषाण, माप और मूर्तिविधान — जटामुकुट, बिजौरा, त्रिशूल, नागेन्द्र, नन्दि, उमा का दर्पण — देकर वे संगमरमर प्रतिमा सोलहवीं सदी की मानते हैं। Savaliya and Joshi describe Uma-Mahesvara couple images found in Ahmedabad, at Sarkhivad in Sarangpur and at Pancanatha Mahadeva near Victoria Garden. They record material, measurements and iconography - jatamukuta, bijaura, trisula, naga, Nandi, the mirror in Uma's hand - and date the marble example to the sixteenth century.
