Sandesara reads the Striparvan of the Mahabharata for Krsna's tenderness and forbearance: his consoling of the blinded Dhrtarastra, the iron figure of Bhima pushed into that embrace in his place, and his acceptance of Gandhari's curse unmoved. An appendix sets the curse beside Toru Dutt's poem Sindhu.
