Dhaky introduces Siddhasena Divākara's Bauddha-santāna-dvātriṃśikā (c. AD 400-444), the earliest Nirgrantha work expounding Mahāyāna Buddhist doctrine without polemic. It survives in 31 verses, the invocatory stanza lost, and uses pre-Diṅnāga terminology - santāna, śūnyatā, vijñāna, kṣaṇikatva. Dhaky maps that vocabulary rather than translating it, and appends the Sanskrit text.
