मेवाड़ में धर्मस्थानों पर सामायिक के समय महिलाओं द्वारा कही जाने वाली सोरठ की लोककथा का हिन्दी रूपान्तर है। भारी नक्षत्रों में जन्मी राजकन्या सोरठ को सौतनों के षड्यन्त्र से सोने के पिंजरे में नदी में बहा दिया जाता है; कुम्हार उसे पालता है और आगे बंजारे भाई उसे देखकर मोहित होते हैं।
