कविवर द्यानतराय का यह पद लोभ को जीव के लिए महान दुःखदायी बताता है। मूर्ख संसारी लोभ करता है, जबकि ज्ञानी उसे छोड़कर मोक्ष का अधिकारी बनता है। घर छोड़कर वन में रहने वाला भी यदि धन और स्त्री का मोह न छोड़े तो उसका व्रत ठगी है। लोभ से ही हिंसा आदि पाँचों पाप होते हैं।
