It is with a deep sense and experience of sorrow and grief that I take note of the demise of Dr. P. M. Modi at Baroda less than a month back on 17th July 1986 at the age of 88.

Modi, who died at Baroda on 17 July 1986 aged eighty-eight. Principal of Samaldas College, Bhavnagar, he taught for fifty years and wrote on Śaṅkara's Vedānta and the Gītā; his English rendering of the Aṇubhāṣya was then in the press.
