Sharma mines Dhanapala's Sanskrit prose romance Tilakamanjari for history. He traces the Paramara genealogy from the Agnikunda legend through Vairisimha, Siyaka, Munja and Sindhuraja to Bhoja, and matches the romance's Harivahana, Samaraketu and Candraketu against Cola, Rashtrakuta and Simhala rulers of the eleventh century.
