बेटाई धीरु परीख की 'तुलनात्मक साहित्य' की समीक्षा करते हैं, जो इस विषय पर पहली गुजराती पुस्तक है और विद्यार्थियों के लिए लिखी गयी है। वे विश्वसाहित्य, स्वरूपचर्चा, अनुवाद तथा विषयवस्तु वाले खण्डों का सार देते हैं और अनुवाद-विवेचन को सर्वाधिक शास्त्रीय मानते हैं। Betai reviews Dhiru Parikh's Tulanātmaka Sāhitya, the first Gujarati book on comparative literature, written for university students. He summarises its sections on world literature, general literature, definition, translation and subject matter, notes that its authorities are almost all English, and finds the treatment of translation the most scholarly.
